(Dedham, MA; May 18, 2009)—WS Development today announced that Legacy Place will officially open on August 28, 2009. Final stages of construction are currently taking place at the 675,000 square foot lifestyle center in Dedham, MA located at the intersection of Route 1 and I-95. L.L.Bean will be the first store to open on July 24 just prior to the center’s official opening.

Legacy Place is packed with powerful anchors, including a 60,000 square foot Whole Foods Market; a 30,000 square foot, two-level L.L.Bean store; one of the nation’s top book, music, and movie sellers, Borders; and, offering bowling, food, and fun, one of Boston’s best entertainment venues, Kings.
Also anchoring Legacy Place is Showcase Cinema de Lux, National Amusements’ premier entertainment concept. The 15-screen theatre will include National Amusements’ new premium, reserved-seating concept called Lux Level, which features in-seat dining; and the intimate Lux Level Lounge where patrons can relax before or after the show and enjoy appetizers and beverages, including signature cocktails.
Legacy Place will have among the most exciting mix of retailers and restaurants found anywhere in Greater Boston. Restaurants such as Legal Sea Foods, P.F. Chang’s China Bistro, Yardhouse, Aquitaine, Daily Grill, and b.good will blend with more than 60 specialty stores. Among these include Anthropologie, Victoria’s Secret/Pink, Lucy, Banana Republic, Gap, Bath & Body Works, Levi’s, Clarks, Lucky Brand Jeans, Company C, Urban Outfitters, Stil, Stride Rite, Free People, lululemon athletica, and many more.
The architectural design and planning for Legacy Place is the work of Prellwitz Chilinski Associates/PCA of Cambridge, MA (http://www.prellwitzchilinski.com/).
Legacy Place will feature a wide variety of sustainability features. The center will feature storm water control, white roofs to combat the heat island effect, light pollution reduction, water efficient landscaping, regional and recycled materials, recycling areas for tenant trash, and low-emitting building materials including paint, coatings, adhesives, sealants, carpet systems, and composite wood. Further, Legacy Place has created tenant sustainability guidelines for tenants to follow.
